What is Plastic Injection Molding ?

Thermosetting / thermoplastic polymer pellets are mixed with color powder, melted and then injected into a mould cavity, which fills. The plastic then cools in the mold and solidifies to produce the desired part or product.

How Does Plastic Injection Molding Work ?

The pellets are funnelled into a chamber where they are melted, compressed, and injected into the system. Molten resin passes into the mold through gates, where it cools to form the molded part. Ejector pins then enable easy removal of the plastic part from the mold. Once the part or product is ejected it is inspected against the master sample, before being boxed toward the assembly or packaging department.
